New Fiziks 2?

 

Came across this on on Be-Mag. From Joey of Mushroom blading fame. Sprung tech (who was the main designer of fiziks for Skatepile and Tom Hyser, Fiziks licensed Sprung’s idea to make fiziks suspension frames) has been working on suspension frames for hockey players and casualy dropped this on the mod squad hockey forum. Using a hi lo wheel set up it seems the wheels recess in to the frame. I don’t know much about these but I’ll try to get more info. Maybe we will see a return of true suspension frames to rollerblading. Or maybe it will be just another gimmick. Either way lets see how long it takes for Rollernews to steal this post and not give RnR credit.

CARBON UPDATE!!

All you carbon feinds out there I have good news and bad news. I just got an email from the distributpr and here is what they said:

“The black Carbon’s will be here next week, (04/26-05/2 SIC) but in a very limited number. There will be no size 7, 8, 12, or 13’s, and not enough to cover all pre-orders in the other sizes. We will be doing our best to spread out the skates fairly and evenly to all the shops that pre-ordered them back in November.

We will have the white and black Carbon’s shipping to us from the factory at the end of the month, and we will have plenty of those currently available, but do ask that if you don’t have them on order, do so now. If you want to up your order, this would be the time as well.

If there is anything else we can do, let us know.

How Eulogy Wheel’s are made.

Sweet educations on the manufacturing side of skating. According some super industry insiders on webforums those wheel molds probaly cost about 1.2 billinon dollars each.

Crank 2 Filmed on Rollerblades

An interview over at movieline.com with the directors of Crank 2, Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, Talk about filming while skitching and skating and filming. Also they are quite the camera nerds. Sounds like a DVD I might actually watch the “behind the scene clips” in the extras.

Here is a bit from the interview:

“Have you ever been in peril when shooting a take in these extreme situations?

TAYLOR: We don’t think of it like that, but I’m sure we are. From an outsider perspective, when they see one of us on rollerblades hanging off the back of a car, yeah, it looks dangerous. But we kind of do it in our own controlled way, and if we feel like something’s too insane, then we’ll back off. One of us can skate better than he can walk, and we just have that affinity—”

Mayhem says Bully Beatdown is fake! No Way!

Yep Was it the pink hair that gave it away? Or the fact that no skater i have ever met acted like the guy on Bully Beatdown?

Anyway Pink Hair Mayhem maid a forum post over at mixedmartialarts.com aka MMAroidrage.com about how fake the show is and that its so fake he still hasn’t taken the second season contract. Anyone want to bet he does? $$$?

Any way here is the quote:

“I have a confession to make.

Bully Beatdown is completely fake. Everyone on it is actors. Everyone involved with the show knows that it is fake and we script pretty much everything that comes out of their mouth. I have not yet got an executive producer credit, or a writer’s credit- but I write the bully’s dialouge myself. I will be E.P. on season two. That’s right, our scripted fake show is suppossedly doing so well done that we will be getting a season two. Makes my stomach hurt that I’m selling this slop. I’m sorry.

The fights are the most complicated portion of the show. The real trick is, hiring stuntmen that are so skilled that they can make it look like we are putting them in 16 oz gloves, headgear and convincingly get beat up by mixed martial artists. We looked high and low, but we found them, and made the show really convincing. Unfortunately, the people on the internet are much too bright to be fooled by this trickery, and have exposed us. This doesn’t really affect us too much, because no one cares what a few back alley websites say about our hit MTV show, but I couldn’t bear to read the forum with all this shame that I’m carrying around. I’m actually considering turning down the contract to host the next season because of the ridicule that I’m recieving on this board and others.

Again. I’m sorry interwebz. I apologize, sincerely.”
