Rann sent me this little review of his new favorite wheel company. We should have some in next week. Thanks Rann!
“I copped some Street Artist wheels from RecnRoll and got the 58/88 and I must say they are quite possibly the best wheels I have ever skated. I skate freestyle and antirocker and I have always had issues with wheels wearing and decoring really quickly. I have skated every wheel Co since senate with the exception of BHC and Chimera and they break as follows:
Undercover (2 sets) – 3 Sessions each
4×4 (3 sets) – 2 Weeks at most
Genre (1 Set), Mindgame – 3 Weeks
Eulogy (countless sets) – 1 month and a half
Senate (countless sets) – 2-2.5 months
I have only had the Street Artist wheels for a week but I have put them through 2 indoor park session, 2 outdoor concrete park sessions, and 2 street sessions. They are in immaculate condidtion. Hardly any wear what so ever. They remind me of the old Senate line that came out after the failed liberty spike core. They are holding up and wearing like that line which are to this day the best wheels I have ever skated.
The Street Artist wheels have a nice wide 8 or 9 millimetter profile that provides excellent grip and control even on the slickest surfaces. As far as graphics they are just a plain simple wheel no crazy colors and graphics like most companies are trying to push. Only about 3/8 of the wheels has any sort of graphic on it which just makes it a nice simple wheel. They roll smoother than anything I have ever skated and the cores on them seem rock solid and appear to be just a ridge up into the urethane that forms a T and probably works really well.
At a price of just $24 for a full set of for be sure to pick you up a set and give them a try for yourself I would bet money you wont be disappointed.” – Rann West
